Capri Pelzer
March 20, 1984 — February 18, 2022
Born on March 20th, 1984 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of Curtis and Mary (Major) Pelzer. "Pre" or "Premo" as his friends called him, received his early education in Brooklyn, and attended Newdorp high school in Staten island,NY.
He was a true leader. A husband, a father, a coach, a philanthropist, and community activist.
Capri worked as a counsellor for young men and loved helping the youth of his community. He was also an assistant coach for the Mount Anthony union high school varsity and junior varsity boys basketball teams. Coach Pree, as many players called him, was also involved in coaching and supporting many youth basketball events happening in and around the Bennington area.
Capri was a hard working, selfless, and authentic employee who had a tremendous
impact on the Bennington community. Capri was active in the Vermont community giving back to multiple charitable donations and volunteering his time as a coach and mentor to many.
Most recently Pre had been working at Enterprise, and had become a Notary Public.
He had such a positive way about him that will be missed by all.
Besides basketball and coaching, Pre enjoyed listening to music of all kinds and meditation. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Capri is survived by his soulmate, partner, and "Sheelah" Gloria Cruzado. His Sons; Zapree and Zamir Pelzer. His mother; Mary Pelzer. His mother-in-law; Sandra Cruzado. His sisters Talima, Carein, and Cursty who was like another mother to Capri. His Brother Curtis. Gloria's sisters who were like sisters of his own: Rebecca and Cassandra. Pree is also survived by some special friends DeShawn Hamlet and Rayon Watson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Capri is Predeceased by his father, Curtis Pelzer; as well as a friend, Kenneth "Slink" Keitt, who was like a brother to Capri.
There will be no formal services at this time. The family plans to hold a celebration of Capri's Life at a later date.
