Bryon Robert Stemp, 71 of 289 Reservoir Road, Shaftsbury passed away on June 12, 2022 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with his Wife by his side.
Bryon was born in Bennington on October 26, 1950 to the late Francis George and Florence (Racicot) Stemp. Bryon was the youngest of the 5 Stemp Brothers. He attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and began High School at Bennington Catholic High School before graduating from Mount Anthony Union High School in 1969.
Bryon was an accomplished machinist who applied his trade at Tansitor Electronics in Bennington, Johnson Control in Bennington and the Arasco Copper Mines in Hayden, Arizona and several other places. Bryon was also a skilled carpenter who built his beautiful 3 story home in Shaftsbury by himself with just the help of his Son and Wife. Bryon married the former Linda (Friend) Gosley of Sutton, Vermont in 1996 after being together for 10 years. He had 2 sons and 3 stepdaughters whom he loved immensely.
Bryon was an avid hunter and an expert marksman and fished with both rod and reel and bow and arrow.
Bryon is survived by his Wife of 36 years together, Linda, and his Son, Jared (Andrea) of Orange City, Florida along with Grandson Thaddius. He is also survived by his Brother Steven F. Stemp (Mary) of Bennington and Brother Dennis G Stemp (Jeanette) of Orlando. Florida. Other survivors are Daughters through marriage, Wendy (John) Schenk of Callicoon, NY, Tammy (Dave) Gosely of Bennington and Jennifer (John) Maynard of Huntington, Mass. Additionally, Bryon is survived by 2 Sisters-In-Law, Jill Stemp (Tommy) of Keystone Heights, Florida and Sally Ann Stemp (Kenny) of Bennington. He also leaves behind his 2 best friends, Mark Hoag of Bennington and Chris Schnop of Cambridge, NY. Bryon was predeceased by his Son, Tyson and Brothers Tommy and Kenny.
There will be a graveside gathering of Bryon's immediate family later in the year.
