Brittany E. Godin, 25, a resident of Hidden Valley Road, Pownal, died unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, December 19, 2018.

Brittany was born in Bennington on April 22, 1993, daughter of Kathy Goodrum and Luke Godin. She received her education in the Bennington schools and had been employed at various restaurants in the area.

She was born with a heart condition and during her life she had several open-heart surgeries and other medical procedures at Children's Hospital in Boston. Despite all of this Brittany always lived life to the fullest. She will be remembered as a kind, generous, caring person who always put others first. She always had a passion for horses

Survivors include her mother, Kathy Goodrum (Mike Gardner) of Pownal; her father, Luke Godin of Shaftsbury; a brother, Nicholas Goodrum of Saratoga Springs, NY; her maternal grandparents, Charles and Shirley Goodrum of Bennington; her paternal grandparents, Steve and Linda Godin of Maine; a special aunt and uncle, Susan Goodrum of Niskayuna, NY and Aaron Godin of Shaftsbury and several other aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 12:00 noon with Msgr. Bernard Bourgeois officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
