Brian John Morrissey

July 13, 1949 — November 10, 2022

Brian John Morrissey, 73, a lifelong member of the Bennington Community, died on November 10, 2022 after a long illness. The third son of Gerald and Phyllis Morrissey. Brian was pre-deceased by his brothers Gerry, Walter and Timothy and his sister, Jane Maloney. He is survived by two sisters, Diane Daley and Representative Mary Morrissey as well as two generations of nieces, nephews and cousins. Brian was educated at Saint Francis de Sales Academy, Bennington Catholic High School and Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. He was a dedicated employee of the Southwestern Vermont Supervisory Union for many years with a love of special education. Brian also gave care to others as a Licensed Nursing Assistant at both CLR and Crescent Manor. Brian had multiple business positions including the advertising director for H. Greenberg and Sons where he designed the company logo. He also worked at United Counseling Service in Bennington. Brian Morrissey was a quiet introspective kind person devoted to his family, friends and coworkers. May this humble good man rest in peace. A graveside committal service will be held at the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery on Thursday November 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Hugh Cleary officiating.
