Brent Dean Booker Sr., 57, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center due to a long-term illness. He resided in Jacksonville, VT with his son Daniel Booker and nephew Douglas Lazelle. He was born in Montague City, Mass., on April 28, 1960, to Alton and Eloise (Jones) Derby Booker.
Mr. Brent Booker served in the United States military, until he was medically discharged. He was a line cook for several restaurants and hotels before ending his employment due to a minor ailment. Brent then spent the next ten years raising six of his children as a single parent in Springfield, VT.
Brent enjoyed arts and crafts, building models and photographing naval ships and many outdoor recreational activities. He was an excellent musician who could play the piano, guitar and harmonica with considerable skill. He would continuously play for his children as well as for the Springfield Assembly of God, a Pentecostal church in Springfield, VT. Brent grew up as a devoted Catholic and raised his children Protestant, where they attended service for well over a decade.
Survivors include his seven children, his eldest son Elton L. Booker of Massachusetts, Stacey L. Springfield and Autumn M. Booker of Colorado, Jessica R. Booker, Amanda L. Booker, Daniel J. Booker and Brent D. Booker Jr. of Vermont. A sister, Emma (Derby) Lazelle and two brothers, Leonard Derby and Eugene F. Booker. Along with sixteen grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by two sisters, his twin Beverly J. Booker and Donna (Derby) Pierce, his youngest brother Tony Leroy Booker, and his daughter Amber M. Hazelton.
