BENNINGTON-
Brenda J. Lonergan, 64, a resident of Benmont Ave and previously of Burgess Road, in Bennington, VT, passed away peacefully on January 25th, 2022, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Bennington, VT on November 9th, 1957, the daughter of Leon A. Foster and Ruth (Savage) Foster Johnson. Brenda received her education in Bennington and was a 1975 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School. She later attended Southern Vermont College.
Brenda married Bruce Lonergan on June 30, 1990 at the Second Congregational Church in Bennington.
In earlier years, Brenda worked at the Fay Farm on South Stream Road in Bennington, Grand Union, and the Smeltzer Corporation. She later worked at the Vermont Steak House, Mattison's Brew Pub and Papa Pete's Restaurant. Brenda most recently worked at the Equinox Hotel where she waitressed, bartended and worked on the beverage cart at the golf course.
She enjoyed riding her motorcycle and traveling. Her favorite place on earth was Hawaii. She had also traveled extensively throughout the world.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce Lonergan, of Bennington. Her three children; twin sons, Devon Lonergan, of Bennington, and Derek and Stephanie Lonergan, of Hoosick Falls, NY, and a daughter, Heather Lonergan, of Bennington. Brenda is also survived by two sisters, Arla Foster and Donna Goodhue. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Brenda was predeceased by a sister, Nola Jean Foster.
At Brenda's request, her cremains will be spread at the family's convenience, in her favorite place- Hawaii.
