Brenda Mcguire (Green)

On Monday October 10, 2022, Brenda McGuire (Green) passed away from a short two-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was sixty-six years old, born to Earl (deceased) and Sandra Green in Danvers, Massachusetts. While living north of Boston, Brenda worked odd jobs while raising her two sons (Jason Hudson) and (Matthew Willey). In 2000, Brenda moved from Massachusetts to Vermont to be closer to her sons and their families. While in Vermont, Brenda found her calling and passion working as a caretaker, primarily for hospice patients. She started a home for hospice patients that did not have a place to live. Brenda eventually closed her business to move to Jackson, NY, to care for her father. Within the last several years, Brenda moved to Shushan, NY, but continued to work as a caretaker until she received her cancer diagnosis on August 10, 2022.

Brenda enjoyed being with family and friends. She loved to laugh, attend live music events, and see “Elvis” perform. Often, you would find her dancing away to the live music. For those who had the privilege to be around her, there would be many laughs, and a good time. Brenda loved the Christmas holiday and would make the time memorable for her family. She found great joy in giving and providing unique traditional gifts to her children, their wives, and grandchildren. Brenda’s faith kept her strong during this season in her life and was at peace knowing she would be in a better place in heaven.

Brenda leaves behind her two sons, Jason Hudson and his wife Candy, Matthew Willey and his wife Tallie; her mother, Sandra Green; her brother and his wife, Brian and Donna Green; and her sister and her husband, Pamela, and Gerard Mailly. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 1-3 PM at Open Bible Baptist Church in Cambridge, NY. A memorial service will follow at the church at 3:00. A celebration of Brenda's life with food and drinks will be held following the service at VFW in Bennington, VT.

Flowers are welcome, but in lieu of flowers, Brenda’s strong wishes were that all her family and friends would receive routine medical care and check out any physical signs that something might be wrong.
