Bonnie Jean Barber,41, of Bennington VT passed away November 22nd at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following short illness. At the time of passing Jeannie was surrounded by family and friends.
Jeannie was born December 22nd 1975 in Bennington to Richard Barber and the late Bonnie (Lampron) Prentiss. She was a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School and attended Kaplan University where she had achieved the Deans List.
One of Jeannie's greatest joys was being a mother. After raising her biological children and non-biological children she became a licensed foster parent to three little girls which she later adopted and loved as her own.
In Jeannie's earlier years she was employed at Staples in Bennington as a copy center associate.
Jeannie was a lover of the outdoors and especially loved camping at Lake Lauderdale. She also enjoyed spending her days at both Shaftsbury and Woodford Lakes with her family. She enjoyed reading a good book; Debbie Macomber and mystery thrillers were her favorites.
Jeannie was a selfless person whose loving care impacted many lives. She always had open arms for anyone in need. She had an infectious smile and loving hands.
Jeannie is survived by her fiancé, Matthew Sauer of Bennington; her children, Kerri and Jeremy Pudvar, Serenity, Zuri and Katalina Sauer all of Bennington, and also Mechelle Gates of Bennington who she loved and cared for like one of her own. Also survived by her father and step-mother Richard and Nancy Barber of Pownal and her step-father Richard Prentiss of Bennington, by her siblings, Randy Barber and his partner Marchell of Hoosick Falls NY, Angela Barber and her partner Zach of Windsor VT, Kelli Prentiss and her partner Mike of Bennington, Chad and Deseria Prentiss of Bennington and Melissa and Russell Littlefield of MA. She is also survived by her life long friends whom she considered sisters, Cheryl Bamrick of Bennington, Melini Dunican of Bennington and Fay Morse of Bennington.
She has several nieces and nephews, Breonna, Bradley, Sierra, Kylee, Kyra, Katelyn, Kaelyn, Xavier, Blake and Cayden and also has several aunts, uncles, cousins, along with great nephews and a great niece.
Jeannie was predeceased by her loving mother, Bonnie (Lampron) Prentiss.
The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Friday, December 1, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
Following the services friends and relatives are invited to the Bennington Fire Department on River Street for a time of sharing and remembrance.
