Betty J. Phillips, 91, widow of Lloyd S. Phillips, a resident of Crescent Manor Care Center, Bennington, Vermont died Friday February 5, 2016 at her residence.
Born in Bennington, VT on November 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Marjorie (Morse) Smith. She received her education in Bennington.
In earlier years Mrs. Phillips was employed at Union Carbide Corporation for twelve years until her retirement.
Her hobbies and interests included bowling, playing cards and Bingo.
Survivors include her son Edward R. Phillips and daughter -In-law Gail of Elgin, Oklahoma, six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; a brother Raymond (Skip) Smith of Arlington; nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Phillips was pre deceased by a daughter and son, Linda Phillips and Lloyd C. Phillips, and two sisters Geraldine Surdam and Pauline Therrien.
The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday February 11, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard McSherry, Pastor of the Shaftsbury Methodist Church officiating.
Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service
Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
