Bernice "Carol" Cameron

June 30, 1937 — June 17, 2022

Hoosick Falls, NY " Bernice "Carol" Berry Cameron, went to join her husband and many loved ones who passed before her on Friday, June 17, 2022. Throughout a brave journey with Alzheimer's Disease, she kept her spunk, smile, determination, and great sense of style. Carol was born in St. Johnsbury, VT on June 30, 1937, the daughter of Ira Berry and Carolyn Gour Miller. She was raised in North Troy, VT in the loving home of her foster parents Mae and Bernard Dodge.

Carol graduated from North Troy High, Class of 1955 (Salutatorian). While attending Bennington College she met her husband Donald (Kemo) Cameron. They were married in Arlington, VT June 23, 1956. Together they raised three children. Returning to college, Carol graduated from the Community College of Vermont and Johnson State College (Summa Cum Laude).

While raising her children she worked for Putnam Memorial Hospital, Mount Anthony Union High School and Bennington-Rutland Opportunity Council. Carol retired following 30+ years with a law firm started by Marshall Witten and Harvey Carter. We thought she retired; she then worked part-time for the Bennington Chamber of Commerce. Her work family always meant a great deal to her. Carol was a true "office mom". She volunteered at The Park McCullough House and Bennington Chamber of Commerce.

She was an avid reader, lifetime learner and tennis enthusiast. Carol loved playing croquet with the "Legal Eagles", walking/bonding with close friends, and trips anywhere. Carols favorite time was spent with her family. She so enjoyed her trips to visit her North Troy family and friends and the annual alumni banquet. Her pug, Lucy Jane, was also a great love of hers.

In addition to her parents and foster parents, she was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers. Surviving are her daughter Donna (Robert) Fitzpatrick of Hoosick Falls, son Scott (Diana) Cameron of Salem, NY and son David Cameron of Hebron, NY. Grandchildren: Jason, Don, Ron, Leigh Anne, Amy, Kyle and Lauren. Great-Grandchildren: Ashley, Josh, Brynn, Cameron, Caden, Wyatt, Audrey, Rylee, Zeb and Dax. A sister Bernice Standish and her North Troy, VT family and two brothers, Nelson (Freda) Berry of Carlisle, PA and Wayne (Patty) Davis of Boca Rotan, FL. Many nieces, nephews, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law. A special bonus family member, Leslie Lebarron.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
