POWNAL- Berenice Best Randall, 92, a resident of Pownal, passed away peacefully on December 19th 2021 at Rivers Edge Community Care Home.
Born in Waterbury, Connecticut on November 23, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mildred (Parks) Whitely. She received her early education in Connecticut and graduated from Thomaston High School in Thomaston, Connecticut. She married Her husband Daniel S. Randall Sr. on December 13th, 1947, in Trumbull, Connecticut.
As a young woman, she was a "Candy Striper" at the Waterbury Hospital. Berenice's main occupation was being a stay-at-home mom for her 10 children. After raising the children in her home state of Connecticut, she later moved to Pownal, Vermont and became a cashier at Green Mountain Grocers.
Berenice attended the First Baptist Church in Hoosick Falls, New York. She was also a proud attendee of Bennington Project Independence. Besides that, she enjoyed; reading, crocheting, playing cards, and most importantly, spending time with her family.
Survivors of Berenice include; Her Children, Daniel Jr. (Leslie) of Jamaica, VT, Douglas (Danielle) of Temple, ME, Fred (Pia) of Bethel, CT, Debbie (Bob) Lake Worth, FL, Jeffery (Ann) Monroe, CT, Bernice (Paul) of North Pownal, VT, Guy (Patti) of North Bennington, VT, Kim of Hoosick Falls, NY, and Cynthia (John) of Greer, SC. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, as well as numerous great, and great-great Grandchildren. Berenice is also Survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many cousins.
Berenice was predeceased by her Husband Daniel S. Randall Sr. in 2007. This year would have been their 74th wedding anniversary. She is also Predeceased by her brother and sister, Robert and Grace Whitely. As well as, a son Teddy, and Kim's late wife Cindy.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Rivers Edge Community Care Home and Bayada Hospice.
At the request of the family, there will be no services at this time. A celebration of Berenice's life will be held at a later date.
