Barbara J. Tifft, 79, a resident of Depot Street in Manchester Center, VT died unexpectedly on Saturday February 5, 2022 at her residence.
She was born in Bennington, VT November 16, 1942.She was the daughter of the late Victor and Marjorie (Potter) Blake. Barbara received her education in North Bennington and was a graduate of North Bennington High School. She later graduated from Saint Joseph's Business College in Bennington.
In earlier years Barbara was employed as Department Manager at Mammoth Mart in Bennington. She later worked at Jard for 18 years and for 20 years she worked at Energizer in Bennington from which she retired. Following her retirement, Barbara went back to work at Walgreens, she most recently worked at Jolleys in Manchester.
She was a life member of both the Manchester VFW and Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to casino's. Barbara was an avid football fan. She enjoyed NASCAR, was a Jeff Gordan fan and collected Elvis memorabilia. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren camping. Her family and grandchildren were her main interest.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda King (Wayne) of North Bennington and Lisa Lown of North Bennington. Her significant other, Leslie "Red" Cole of Manchester Center, VT. Five grandchildren, Jeremy King, Jennifer Gaudette, Melody Bessette and Laura and Kayla Lown. Sixteen great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a son, Tyronne Gaudette and a granddaughter, Amanda King-Pratt.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington on Saturday February 12 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at 5:00 p.m.
The burial will take place in the family lot at Grandview Cemetery in North Bennington in the spring.
