Barbara J. Smith, 66, a resident of Hawks Place, Bennington died peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2020 at her home following a long illness.

Born in Troy, NY October 18, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Tercia (Atkins) Oldham. Barbara received her education in the Bennington schools.

Barbara married Robert A. Smith in Bennington on April 20, 1969.

In earlier years she was employed at BenMont Paper Company and Bennington Brush. Prior to her illness Barbara was employed at McDonalds restaurant in Bennington.

Barbara enjoyed Bingo and playing cards; however, her greatest pleasure came from time spent with her nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her husband, Robert A. Smith of Bennington; four sisters, Donna (Daniel) O'Dell, Lynn (Don Spencer) Oldham, Fannie Oldham and Tina (Edward) Sweet, all of Bennington and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Due to the Covid restrictions private services will take place at the convenience of the family.

Burial will take place in the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington.
