Barbara M. Molloy

Barbara M. Molloy, 80, a longtime resident of Arlington, Vermont passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Brookdale Filmore Pond. in Bennington. Barbara was born in Bennington, VT on May 13, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lillian (Kelson) Murphy. She was the thirteenth of thirteen children. She received her education from Bennington schools and graduated from Bennington Catholic High School in 1960. She later went to St. Joseph's Business College. She married Larry E. Molloy of Arlington on July 6, 1963 at St. Francis de Sales Church. Barbara worked as a homemaker for many years. She then went to work at Chittenden Bank and retired after 35 years. She also served on the boards of the Arlington Nurses Association and the Martha Canfield Library. After she retired she volunteered as an Adult Literacy Volunteer. She was an active member of St. Margaret Mary’s Church in Arlington. She enjoyed being part of a large family and hosting many family parties and dinners throughout the years. Survivors include two daughters, Meredith A. Englebert and husband Jeff of Corning, NY and Molly E. Mulholland and husband Michael of Manchester, NH. Three grandchildren, Christopher Englebert, of Albany, NY and Katie and Thomas Mulholland of Manchester, NH. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Jane Molloy of Maryland along with many nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Larry, brother’s Thomas, Joseph, Leo and Patrick and her sisters Margaret, Catherine, MaryFrances, Ann, Lena, Olga, Agnes and Joan. Also a brother-in-law Paul Molloy. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday, May 4, 2023, from 9:30-10:30a.m. The Funeral Mass will follow at Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 11:00 a.m. If friends desire, contributions in memory of Barbara M.
