Barbara Concannon (Concannon)

December 26, 1953 — February 13, 2019

Barbara Concannon, age 65, a resident of Bennington, died on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

She was born in New York City, on December 26, 1953 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Leonard) Concannon of Shaftsbury VT. She received her education in Bellerose New York, before moving to Shaftsbury to be closer to her parents and raise her family.

For over thirty years, Barbara (Therrien) had been employed at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. She loved her work.

Barbara was a volunteer at Centers for Living and Rehabilitation, Goodwill and for Meals-On-Wheels in Bennington.

She is survived by two children: Richard Owens (and his wife Hope) of Florida, and Kelly Owens of Bennington. She leaves behind a granddaughter Ainsley Owens of Florida, her brother, Joseph Concannon (and his wife Theresa) of Bellerose, New York, Godson, Michael Bravada of Boston, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held privately by her family. There are no callings hours scheduled.

Memorial contributions may be made to United Counseling Service or Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington.
