B. Ardella Morin, 93, a longtime resident of Shaftsbury, died peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Rivers Edge Community Care Home surrounded by her family.
Born in Pittsfield, MA on November 28, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Angeline (Coulter) Herrick. Ardella moved to Shaftsbury at an early age and received her early education in the Shaftsbury schools and was a 1940 graduate of North Bennington High School.
Ardella married Joseph W. Morin in 1942. Mr. Morin died in 1992.
She was a member of the Shaftsbury United Methodist Church for many years where she was very active as long as her health permitted. Ardella was also a member of the United Methodist Women at the church.
She was employed for many years as a bookkeeper at Paulin, Inc. and later at J.C. Penny from which she retired. Her main interests were her home and family. Her favorite past-times were crocheting, knitting and reading.
Ardella's family would like to sincerely thank Lois, Robin, Maria and all the loving caregivers at Rivers Edge for the wonderful care given to our Mother during the last sixteen months.
Survivors include three children, Charlene (Bill) Mahlmann of Dorset. Richard (Bonnie) Morin of Ballston Spa, NY and Frank (Carol) Morin of Bennington; eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren; a sister, Beatrice Mattison of Shaftsbury; a brother, Arthur (Betty) Paulin of Shaftsbury and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ardella was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley Hall and two sisters, Ruth Wetherell and Marion Carnagey.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will take place in the family lot in Grandview Cemetery, North Bennington,
