Anthony Robert Sausville

January 9, 1951 — February 18, 2025

Anthony Robert Sausville, 74 of Bennington, died February 18, 2025, at his home with his family surrounding him. Tony was born in Bennington, VT on January 9, 1951, the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Roy) Sausville.

Tony attended Bennington Catholic High and worked most of his life as an autobody technician, auto mechanic and as a finish carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, off-roading, music, Nascar and woodworking.

Tony is survived by his wife, Kendy Skidmore, his biological children; Ian (Tiffany) Sausville, Shanna Firth and Gretchen Sausville, his stepchildren; Ryan (Alexina) Firth, and Abby (Richard Simmons) Skidmore, his adopted children; Courtney Sausville, Heather Sausville, Karlene Sausville, Isabella Skidmore, Alexis Skidmore and James O’Rourke. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, his siblings: Collette Tate, Sylvia Sausville and Celester Edmundson. Tony was predeceased by his sisters, Cheryl York and Roberta Devine.

Special thanks to Richard Simmons, Tony’s son-in-law and caregiver, for his unwavering support, care and love for Tony over the past two years.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington on Saturday February 22, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at the conclusion of the calling hour at 2:00 PM.
