Anthony I. Palazzo, Jr. age 86, a resident of North Bennington, and former of Manchester Center, Vermont died on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at his home following a long illness.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 21, 1934, and was the son of the late Anthony and Lena (Osder) Palazzo, Sr. Anthony received his education in Brooklyn schools. He served in the Navy from September of 1952 until August of 1956.
Anthony married the former Jean Newlands on February 26, 1955 in Brooklyn. Mrs. Palazzo has predeceased him.
In earlier years, Anthony owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Bennington. He was later employed at the VFW Post #1332 in Bennington as a Bookkeeper. He was a member of the VFW. He also enjoyed making miniature furniture, and kayaking.
Survivors include two daughters; Anita Crowley (Dean) of Pownal, Vermont and Jane Keltner (Mitchell) of Richmond, Kentucky; a son Jeff Palazzo (Dawn Borghesi) of Roseville, California, as well as eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He leaves his sister Anita Mucci (John) of California.
A private memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 , for his family and a few very close family friends. Interment will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington at a future date (TBD).
