Anne R. DesLaurier, 83, a former resident of Bennington, Surfside Beach, South Carolina, Athens, NY and more recently of Union City, Georgia died on Saturday December 26, 2020 at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born in Bennington, VT July 2, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Phillip and Alda (Betit) Racicot. Anne received her early education in Bennington, VT and in 1956 graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in Rutland, VT. She married Robert E. Deslaurier on June 14, 1958 at Sacred Heart Church in Bennington.
She was a member of Saint Patrick's Church in Athens, NY where she sang and helped run the choir. She was also a member of Saint Michael's Church in Garden City, South Carolina where she was involved in the RCIA, Adoration and many other roles at the church.
Survivors include two sons, Jim DesLaurier and his wife Sarah and Mark DesLaurier and his wife Lisa. Four grandchildren, Joshua DesLaurier, Grace DesLaurier, Phillip DesLaurier (Bailey) and Donna DesLaurier (Toby). Two great grandchildren, Aiden and Kason. Two sisters, Helen McKenna and Mary Brochu and a sister in law, Mary Pat Racicot, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by six brothers, Thomas, Victor, Robert, John, Bert and Ray and five sisters, Florence, Josephine, Carmel, Thelma and Theresa.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Saturday Jan. 2, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Saturday January 2, 2020 with a prayer at 11:30 a.m. and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at noon where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. The burial will follow in the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery.
