Andrea Lee Tobin

Andrea Lee Tobin, 73, of North Pownal, VT, passed away October 30, 2023 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center following a very brief illness. Andrea was born in Johnson City, New York on October 19, 1950, the daughter of Melvin Short and Margaret (Ortlieb) Short Savage. She married Raymond Tobin on June 24, 1998. Andrea was a devout Christian and was a member of the Christian Assembly Berkshires in Pittsfield, MA. She loved doing jigsaw puzzles and looked forward to doing her Saturday puzzles with her stepdaughter Lynda. She was a member of the Pownal Valley Fire Department. Her family was the most important part of her life. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Raymond Tobin, of N. Pownal, VT, her son, Steven Houser of N. Pownal, VT, her stepdaughters; Lynda LaPlant of N. Bennington, VT, Robin Field of Broadalbin, NY and Anne Tobin of Bennington, VT, her siblings; Darlene Miller of Ilion, NY, Brad Short of Russellville, AR and Melanie Sweet of Buckeye, AZ and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Melvin Short and Margaret Savage, Andrea was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Margaret Tobin, a sister; Charlene Brinski and her stepfather, Jack Savage. A memorial service will be held for Andrea on Saturday November 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Mahar Funeral Home 628 Main Street Bennington, VT. Pastor John Goyette will officiate. A gathering will be held at the Pownal Center Fire Department following the service.
