Amanda Lynn Hover was born on May 30th, 1988 at 8:10am at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to Donna Peters and Clifford Hover. Amanda was a bright light in this world from the moment she took her first breath. Amanda attended Mount Anthony Union High School and continued to move forward with her passion of caring for others by obtaining her CNA at Southern Vermont College. Amanda was extraordinarily passionate about her work and therefore decided to further pursue a career in healthcare by taking courses towards her nursing degree at Mildred Elley, where she completed about 3 years until she had to take leave. Amanda worked for Kimball Farms, Brookdale, Centers for Living and Rehabilitation, Bennington Health and Rehabilitation, Hillcrest Commons, Bayada Home Health, among others, she had helped so many people and touched so many lives with her unwavering love and selflessness. Her passion for help those less fortunate or as she likes to say "to care for those who once cared for us is one of life's highest honors." Was a huge part of her identity. Most presently she went back from working privately as a caregiver for a family to help with COVID relief working directly with covid patients and everyone in between. Amanda was a loving mother to her son Dominick he was her world and her reason for living. He was born on November 2nd, 2007. The happiest day of her life was bringing her little boy into this world. He is now 13 years old, Amanda and Dominick bonded most nights by cuddling on the couch watching movie marathons and discussing their opinions about the film afterwards. They both shared a love for movies and film making. She was a free spirit and loved everything natural she was interested astrology, nature, science, psychology, culture, was an incredibly talented artist, and had passion of politics specifically loved (Bernie Sanders) her and family. To say Amanda was intelligent would be an understatement, she had so much potential she could do anything she set her mind to. Amanda was the oldest of three girls, Brittany Hover was the second oldest and Crystal Hover the youngest of the three. ABC girls was a term used often to refer to the three sisters. Their bond was uncompromising, kindred spirits from the start. They were always together even when apart, never failing to support and encourage one another they remained strongly connected their love for one another never faltered. Her parents were both a concrete support in her life always pushing her to do better and helping in anyway whatever she needed and loving her unconditionally. She was the light of their lives from the moment she made them parents for the first time.
Amanda is survived by her son Dominick Gassaway, sisters Brittany Hover, and Crystal Hover, Parents Donna Peters and Clifford Hover, step-brother Joseph Mucinski, step-sister Christina Gargon, Grandmother Ida Peters and Grandfather John Hover.
Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
