Althea Spring Foist

Althea S. Foist, 67 of Williamstown, MA, passed away peacefully at a family home on Friday July 14, 2023. Althea was born in Pittsfield, MA on June 1, 1956, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Stewart) Foist. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Southern Vermont College. Althea was extremely proud to be a nurse and was incredibly dedicated not only to her patients but to her colleagues as well. She was a nurse at Berkshire Medical Center and most recently at the Community Cancer & Infusion Center at the Hillcrest Campus. Althea was also an accomplished scuba diver as well as a dog trainer. She loved being a resident of Williamstown. Althea is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Charles Ian and Carole Foist of Pownal, VT and her sister, Quinette Goewey of Bennington, VT. She was predeceased by a son, Mackenzie Stewart Foist who passed in 2005. Per Althea’s request, her cherished dog Lilybeth will make her home with Ian and Carole, while Peanutbutter and Rosie will be at home with Quinette. A Celebration of Life Service in memory of Althea will be held at the White Oakes Congregational Church, 480 White Oaks Road, Williamstown, Massachusetts 01267 on Saturday September 9, 2023, at 11:00 am.
