Aline C. Laflamme (Laflamme)

Aline C. LaFlamme, 76, a resident of School St in Bennington died Sunday December 4, 2016 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington following a brief illness.

She was born in Bennington, VT July 4, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Rene and Louise (Leonard) LaFlamme. Aline received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of Bennington Catholic High school. In 1959 Aline went to the convent in Rutland, VT where she was a Sister of Saint Joseph's for eight years. She left the convent in 1967 and moved back to Bennington and taught 5th grade at the North Bennington School until 1979. In 1980 Aline attended Nyack College where she received a degree in Bible studies. In 1984 she graduated from the Alliance Theological Center in Nyack, NY where she received her Master's in Divinity

Aline moved to France in 1984 and was a missionary with the Missionary Alliance Church. While in France Aline helped establish churches in the southwest of France and while living in Paris she attended Sorbonne University where she studied language.

She loved to sew and volunteered to sew for the elderly where she would make alterations to their clothing. Aline enjoyed playing the piano at the church and also at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington. She was very devoted to her cats.

Survivors include a sister, Mary Crowley of Bennington, VT; Two brothers, Leonard LaFlamme of Clifton Park, NY and Raymond LaFlamme of Springfield, MA; A niece, Jean McLain of Bennington and a nephew Stephen Walczak of Leesburgh, VA, along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a brother Leo LaFlamme.

A graveside service will be held at the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington on Thursday December 8, at 11:00 a.m.
