Alice L. Woodard

Alice L. "Mimi" Woodard, 92, a resident of Crow Hill Road, Arlington, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Equinox Terrace in Manchester.

Born in Bennington on June 4, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Wood) LaCroix. Mimi received her education in the Bennington schools and was a 1947 graduate of Bennington High School.

She married James L. Woodard on July 17, 1948. Jim died December 6, 2019. They made their home in Arlington and raised 6 children.

In earlier years Mimi was employed at the Candle Mill in East Arlington and later The Orvis Company in Manchester until the time of her retirement. She was also a long-time member of St. Margaret Mary's Church in Arlington.

Mimi enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, playing cards and mostly spending time with her friends and family.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Ann (Michael) Elwell of Arlington and five sons, James G. Woodard of Manchester, Gerald W. (Helen) Woodard, Peter A. Woodard and Paul G. Woodard, all of Arlington and Gordon Christiopher Woodard of Bennington. She also leaves fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Moore of Mt. Dora, FL; a brother, Gordon F. LaCroix of Glens Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mimi was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers, Jane Lueck, Doris Bevis, Theda L. Moon, Ruth A. Lacy, Joseph A. LaCroix and Gerald N. LaCroix.

At Mrs. Woodard's request there will be no services held.

Private burial will take place at the convenience of the family at St. Columbans Cemetery in Arlington.
