Alice Mary Slade

She was born in Starksboro, Vermont March 11, 1942. Alice was the daughter of the late Frederick and Aline (Quenniville) Mayer. She received her education in Bennington, VT.
She married Roy Slade. Mr. Slade died June 5, 1975.
In earlier years Alice was employed at Thomson Manufacturing, Bennington Brush, Triangle, Catamount Glass and Manchester Wood. She had also worked at the Ramada Inn and retired from the housekeeping department at the Best Western.
Alice enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing, going to casinos, scratch tickets and playing games on her tablet. She had a love of animals but her greatest passion was feeding and watching her birds.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Aiken and her husband Leslie of Pownal, VT, Josie Gardner and her husband Robert of Berlin, NY. Four grandchildren, Laurie Cluett (Stephen), Myles Mattison (Alexis), Jessica Reopell and Justin Aiken (Stevie). Twelve great grandchildren. Five sisters, Denise, Lillian, Margaret, Linda and Rita along with three brothers, Robert, Andre and Morris. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Friday August 14, 2020 from noon until 2:00 p.m. The burial and committal service will follow at the family lot at Hinsdiville Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
