Alice L. Bailey

Alice L. Bailey, 97, a resident of Darling Street in Bennington, VT, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on August 29, 2023. Alice was born in North Pownal, VT on September 19, 1925, the daughter of John E. and Lillian (Williams) LaFlamme. She received her education at St. Francis Academy and Bennington High School. She married Harold Bailey in Sacred Heart Church in Bennington on July 11, 1945. Harold died on September 27, 2004. In earlier years Alice was employed at La Resista Corset Company in Bennington and later at Union Carbide Corporation and Thomson Manufacturing. She later became a cook at St. Francis de Sales rectory. She was a member of the Women of the Moose #108. Alice enjoyed baking, sewing and knitting, and loved her family. Alice is survived by her children, Sharon Morin and John Bailey both of Bennington, her grandchildren; Shari (Genevieve) Morin of Petersburg, NY, John Morin, Scott Morin and Michael Bailey, 9 great-grandchildren, Chris Therrien (Julie), Brooke Burnell (Eugene), Michael Bailey, Kayla Morin, Nicole Morin, Jeffery Morin, Maxwell Boulerice, Edward Boulerice, Wade Green, also 6 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Thomas Bailey, her daughter, Barbara Stark, her brother, Lawrence LaFlamme, a granddaughter, Heidi Boulerice and a great grandson, Justin Morin. A Mass of Christian Death and Burial will be offered at Sacred Heart/St. Francis de Sales Church on Tuesday September 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home 628 Main Street in Bennington on Monday September 4, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 PM.
