Alanna Marie Harrington (Libbey)

March 21, 1951 — June 1, 2018

Alanna Marie Harrington, age 67, a resident of Cleveland Ave. in Shaftsbury, VT died on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Crescent Manor Care Centers in Bennington, following a long illness.

She was born in Springfield, MA and was the daughter of the late Richard and Ruth (Johnson) Libbey, Sr. Alanna was raised in Springfield, VT. Her family moved to Bennington during her teen years and she graduated from Mt. Anthony Union High School.

She married Kenneth Harrington on December 20, 1968. He survives. Over the years, Alanna had been employed at Chemfab, Tansitor (now Vishay), Stanley Tool, and with her husband Ken in his construction and lawn care businesses.

Alanna enjoyed gardening, embroidery, painting, all handcrafts but especially enjoyed time with her family and her animals.

Besides her husband, she is survived by four children: Kenneth (Marg) Harrington, Jr. of North Carolina, Tina Harrington of Shaftsbury, VT, Michael (Michelle) Harrington of Shaftsbury, and Chrissy Harrington of Hoosick Falls, NY. She leaves her grandchildren: Sheina Lynch, Kyle Christmas, Cody Wilkins, Amanda Harrington, Keri Wilkins, Pascal Wilkins, Michaela Harrington, and Leo Harrington as well as several great grandchildren. Alanna is also survived by three brothers: Richard Libbey, Jr., Kent T. Libbey, and Keith J. Libbey, along with Tempey her close pawed friend.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday evening, June 7 at 7:00PM at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. Bennington, VT. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:30 PM until the time of the service.
