Alan John Higgins

March 14, 1959 — October 28, 2016

Alan John Higgins, age 57, a resident of Tel Rd. in Bennington, died on Friday morning, October 28, 2016 at his home following along illness.
He was born in Bennington on March 14, 1959 and was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Racicot) Higgins. He received his education in Bennington at both St. Francis de Sales School and at Mt. Anthony High School.
He married the former Barbara Cavalluzzi in Bennington on October 6, 1979. Mrs. Higgins survives. Alan and Barbara had been married for thirty seven years.

Alan was an avid motorcyclist. He loved the Green Bay Packers and the Baltimore Orioles. Alan was an avid animal lover also.
Survivors besides his wife include two brothers: Ronald Higgins of Woodford, and Daniel Higgins of Bennington, His sister Mary Ellen Dupuis and her husband Larry of Pownal, VT, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he is predeceased by one brother Joseph, who died in 2009.

A Prayer service will be held on Wednesday morning, Nov. 2 at 10:15 at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. Bennington followed by a Mass of Christian Death and Burial at 11:00AM at St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7PM.
