William H. Jones

He was born in East Arlington, VT February 5, 1938. He was the son of the late DeForrest and Betty (Pease) Jones. Bill received his education in East Arlington. Bill served in the United States Navy.
He married the former Jean Moon July 3, 1982 at the family home in Bennington.
Bill was employed at Doxee Roofing and Vermont Roofing in Bennington.
He was a member of the VFW Post 1332 and the Bennington Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife Jean Jones of Bennington. Three children, Michael Jones of Shushan, NY, Tracy Jones of New London, CT and Erik Jones of East Hampton, MA. Five step children, Cathy E. Mayer of Bennington, Joel Pacher, April Briggs and Eric Pacher all of Bennington and Angela Brace of northern Vermont. Eighteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, DeForrest and Robert Jones.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday August 1, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
