Mrs. Linda L. Cook, 73, widow of James A. Cook, a resident of Elm St. in Bennington, VT died Tuesday November 16, 2021 at her residence following a long illness.
She was born in Sharon, CT December 10, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Beatrice (Flint) Crandall. Linda received her education in Beacon, NY.
Mr. and Mrs. Cook were married April 7, 1975 in Bennington. Mr. Cook died December 3, 1999.
In earlier years she was employed as a nurse's aid at Fairview Manor in Bennington and also at several nursing homes in Beacon, NY.
She enjoyed country music and being outdoors. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Cook and Doreen Cook both of Bennington. A son, James Cook of Bennington. A grandson, Charles Cook of Bennington. Four girls who she considered her children, Christine Gardner of Ohio, April Sheet of Manchester, VT, Stacy Fero of Waterford, N.Y.and Holly Allen of Smithville, Texas. Two sisters, Susan Tripp of Crazyville, NY and Nancy Bruise of Millerton, NY. Along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a grandson, Stephen Draleau.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington on Monday November 22, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 4:00 p.m.
The burial will take place in the family lot at the Rosewood Cemetery in White Creek, NY in the spring.
