The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Richard Pembroke can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: I first met Mr Pembroke when I interviewed for a job at First National Stores. Along with my parents he instilled very strong work ethics in his employees. He was a wonderful man to work for. The best that I have ever worked for in my entire work career. My condolences go to his wife, children and grandchildren. May his spirit live on thru you all. He surely will be missed!

Condolence: I would like to express my deepest condolences on Dick's passing. To say that he was a great man would truly be an understatement. One of the best summers I had was working for Pembroke landscaping. Not only did it give me a great insight into how to run a successful business, but it also allowed me to share lunch conversations with Dick. I will cherish these memories forever.
Ernest Hemmingway defined courage as "Grace under pressure" and this was mantra for Dick. This could be seen in his handling of difficult political issues while serving in the House as well as his long battle with a horrible disease. To say that he will be missed is truly an understatement.

God Bless,

Condolence: To the family of Mr. Richard Pembroke:

I would like to express my condolences to you for the loss of your husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. But what joy to know that the Bible teaches that those who have died will be resurrected. At John 5:28,29, Jesus promised that those in their graves will come out. And in harmony with God's original purpose, they will have the opportunity to live on a paradise earth. This promised future includes perfect health and never having to die. Imagine the joy you will feel when Mr. Pembroke is brought back to life and reunited with his loved ones.

Condolence: I served with Dick in the Vermont House of Representatives for 10 years (1987-1997). Dick was especially helpful to me with my Route 9 projects out of Wilmington.

In addition, he was a true gentleman. Always honest and straightforward.

He helped make Vermont a better place.
