Alice Coonradt Howard (Coonradt)
Alice B. Coonradt Howard, age 75, a resident of North Bennington, Vermont died on Saturday, October 6, 2018.

Alice was born on May 9, 1943 in Bennington to Oliver and Nellie (Loman) Coonradt. She received her education in local schools. Now together again, she married Homer Howard on July 4, 1964. They resided at the family homestead on Rice Lane until Homer died in 1998 when she moved to Homestead Mews.

Alice had five brothers: Earl, Ernest, Harold, LeRoy, and Kenneth and three sisters: Ruth, Lola and Barbara.

She worked at various businesses and was an active member of the Shaftsbury United Methodist Church and the Women's Group. She was also a member of the local Grange.

Alice and Homer had no children but they loved their dogs and cats. Her latest loved ones, Tiger and Mushu were with her for over fourteen years.

Alice loved to bowl, play dominos and crocheting. She spent immeasurable hours crocheting beautiful items for the family, friends, church bazaars and other community events.

A celebration of Alice's life will take place at the Shaftsbury United Methodist Church on Friday October 19, 2018 at 12:00pm, with the Reverend Richard McSherry, pastor, officiating. A time of Fellowship will follow the service. The interment will take place at the Hillside Cemetery in Raymertown, NY, where Homer is buried. Friends may call at the church on Friday morning from 10:00am until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shaftsbury United Methodist Church or to Second Chance Animal Shelter in Shaftsbury.
