HOWARD PALMATIER OBITUARY
BENNINGTON, VERMONT

Howard C. Palmatier, age 65, a resident on School Street, Bennington died on Sunday morning, May 13, 2018, at home, following a long illness surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Schenectady, New York on December 10, 1952 and was the son of the late Howard and Sarah (Williams) Palmatier He received his education in local schools and is a graduate of Southern Vermont College. Howard served in the Navy. For many years he owned a masonry business and after closing that went to work for Joseph McGovern as a mason and brick layer.

Howard is a past member of the Putnam Hose Fire Company in Bennington, and the Eagles Club and VFW. He enjoyed spending time with the family especially the grandchildren.

He is survived by his two children: Rachella (Timothy) Kelly of Readsboro, VT and Howard Palmatier II of Bennington. He leaves four grandchildren: Drew, Kaylee and Arianna Kelly and Sierra Palmatier. Howard is also survived by sisters and brothers: Linda (Art) Devlin of Woodford, VT, Sandra (Carl) Sherman of Bennington, VT, Ida Charpentier of Shaftsbury and Rhode Island, R. J. Vosburgh of Bennington, VT and Guy Vosburgh of Shaftsbury, VT along with a close friend Joanne, and several nieces and nephews.
Howard is predeceased by his sister, Debbie Lackey, a brother-in-law Phillip (Sharpie) Charpentier, and a sister-in-law Melinda (Mindy) Vosburgh.
Graveside committal services will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington at 1:00PM.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. Bennington, on Wednesday, May 16 from 6-8PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the support of the family through the funeral home.
