"Thank you, Marianne, for the information on reading George's full obituary.
Of course, I really want George to still be smiling at me bursting with interesting ideas to discuss..."

Condolence:
When I remember George this quotation from Marcel Proust comes to mind:

Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy;
they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.

Condolence: The following was written by Michael Sperling in the spring issue of the South Shore Audubon Society newsletter. George "had moved to Vermont in 2010, at the end of 5 years as a Director, 3 as our President, and a few as co-chair of the Brookside Preserve Committee. An avid gardener with a big, crowded home garden...George's earliest President's Messages encouraged water and energy conservation, avoidance of pesticides, and using native plants. George's stepdaughter Amy described him well on her Facebook page: 'Thanks for sharing your gentle spirit, sense of wonder, wisdom, wit, and love of nature. You'll always be close in heart, inspiring service to others and an attitude of gratitude. Rest in Peace.' South Shore Audubon will remember him fondly, too; George was truly special."

Condolence From: Frank and Thea Warman
Condolence: What a wonderful man!. George was a good friend to us on so many
levels. He was kind, considerate, always welcoming and very wise.
He was that rare combination of urbane and rural. Well versed in all
things Manhattan, his rural roots always showed through in his love
of nature and especially gardening. Most importantly, he was a loving
spouse and step father. We will always remember our wonderful
conversations and the grounded way he approached life. It was
always a pleasure to be in his presence. We will miss George very
much. With love and admiration, Frank and Thea Warman
